Prove it was a real weapon. Prove it was loaded. This is something that the Capitol Police should handle on site, not wait and pour through pictures looking for crimes. This is like a speeding ticket mailed to you 8 months after the fact. Or a HOV lane violation 8 months later. A properly functioning adult brain can recognize that there can be drawbacks to publishing hysterical panic porn but at the same time, there can be legitimate reasons to be concerned.

Shouldn’t be too difficult, actually, to find the weapon. Or it will be difficult, and he’ll get off immediately. But THIS is a very real, legitimate concern:

See, unlike all these armchair warriors, I actually had friends who WERE on the Mall on January 6. The thought that they could be arrested merely for attending the Trump rally was legitimately scary. But it turns out THE HEADLINE WAS A LIE.
He wasn’t arrested because they went to the rally; He was arrested because he carried military weapons into a federally owned park. And because of idiots like him, friends of mine are defamed and slandered by accusations they sought insurrection, when all they really wanted to do was encourage the Senate to wait until any evidence of misdeeds could be gathered.
