It was probably the most intense encounter Brian Williams has had since his helicopter in Iraq was NOT hit by an RPG. Following Joe Biden's speech on Monday about the disastrous exit from Afghanistan, Williams, as expected, rushed to praise Biden. However, when he turned to his guest, former CIA analyst and Afghanistan war vet Matt Zeller, he must have been shocked that far from concurring with Williams' narrative, he strongly denounced Biden's poorly planned exit from Afghanistan.
First Brian led off with "I am curious to hear your reaction of this consequential speech by the American president. Didn't run from it, he owned it. He owned his decision. He owned the fact that, as he put it, the buck stops with him."
And that led to the reaction from Zeller that Williams probably didn't expect, especially at a network such as MSNBC; complete disagreement. Zeller led off by taking on Williams' reference to how Biden "owned it" with this sharp retort, "I hope he gets to own their deaths too."

MSNBC management keeps serial liar Brian Williams on their broadcast to ensure viewers that MSNBC is nothing more than a cheap tabloid. They have less credibility than the papers that report spotting Elvis on Mars.

And by no means am I some All-Seer, Omniscient person, I try to make, what I think are common sense comments on this forum. Have no issues with folks disagreeing with me and, except for a very few times, do not take any of it personally.
HOWEVER.................
Those Afghani savages had 20 years to get it right. They used up almost $1,000,000,000,000 of taxpayer money to get it right. They dropped their sh*t and ran.
One thing I got from Zeller is that there were options. There were plans to get these people out before this happened. One thing I’ve been professing, because I really don’t care at this point is, these people knew what was happening. It was no secret. The Taliban have been marching through Afghanistan for months, with very little, if any resistance.
I’m betting that a number of those folks, not the interpreters, but the Americans and journalists, having spent years under the security blanket of the US Military didn’t put much thought into the situation in that country. Probably figured the Big Green Machine would be there to protect them. Maybe when Bagram was emptied out in the middle of the night, in a clear sign that this admin doesn’t care or have the slightest clue what they’re doing, that should have been a clue to put in your 2-weeek notice, pack and get the hell out of there.
Their country is falling apart. Not my f*cking problem. The Afghani people outnumber the Taliban by a lot. There are plenty of weapons to go around. What are all those fighting age men doing, trying to get on those C17s? Find and look at the picture of the 640 or so that did make it onto a C17, lots and lots of fighting age men on that badboy.
As for the interpreters and other Afghani’s that helped. THEY GOT PAID. THEY GOT PAID WELL. They took a chance. The chance they took was far less than the 18 or 19 year old from the 82nd Airborne, 2nd Marine Division, etc etc etc, who was sent to that God forsaken place FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER. NONE. All that happened was folks got really rich from it.
I can understand Zeller’s point. Don’t agree with it one bit. If anyone on here wants to disagree with me, feel free.
Before you do, reach out to the the family members of the 2312 US Military personnel that came home in a box and ask them how they feel. Then reach out to the 20,000 that were wounded in action, some having lost body parts, their sight, etc etc.
On a side note....I read earlier that 22,000 might be headed to a military base in Wisconsin. I’m sure when they get there, given that they’re illiterate in their own language, they’ll quickly learn English, start saluting the Flag, will start listening to Johnny Cash and tell the world how proud they are to be in America.

Will they sit there. Waste more American tax dollars. Realize that they have well landed on the moon. Start to withdraw and then start listening to a radical muslim cleric that will eagerly volunteer to talk to them. Wherever they end up will become just like Dearborn, Mich, Minneapolis, Paterson, NJ, Liburn, Ga., Murfreesboro, Tenn, etc etc etc. And not a single one of them has a job skill. NOT A ONE. What will they do for money?
And that’s just a start as I also say that the number of “refugees” could be in the 6-figures.
One more thing. How about all the terrorists that were just let out of the prison in Bagram. Any chance any of them will be able to mingle in with these folks and be welcomed with open arms in Wisconsin and any other place they’re relocated to. As soon as they land, they’ll disappear into the night and start prepping.

Does anyone remember the Mariel Boat Lift. This is that on steroids. A lot of steroids. Instead of just getting common criminals and crazy people, we’ll be importing people that have made bombs, IEDs, VBIEDs and actively engaged, injured and killed American servicemen and women. Awesome.
Truth bomb. I have seen several reports that the Taliban are knocking on doors looking for westerners and journalists also. They just killed a CNN journalist. There are maybe 10,000 Americans still not able to get to the airport. I see the possibility of this turning into a total train wreck. Then if we do manage to get our own people out God help the poor Afghanis after we are gone.
We should have helped those who worked with us directly. Instead, we left them to the mercies of those beasts.
