If it this contagious it should (I hope and pray) burn itself out.
It would also seem that possibly it is less serious than the prior variants and the increase in hospitalizations is from volume of people getting infected but an overall small percentage of the infected are getting severe symptoms.

My son and I (14 and 62) went since day one last year with no infection. We both have it as of today,( rapid test positive) he has been hit harder ( so far) with 103.3 fever, me, only 100.1, with all the associated headaches, sore throat, dizziness, nausea, maybe because I used the horse paste? …apple flavored, 1.87 percent Ivermectin…we shall see…
….and both of us are un-vaxed…..and will remain that way.
Wishing both you and your son quick and uncomplicated recoveries. Once you are fully recovered you’ll fortunately have developed natural immunity.
Of course I don’t know your specific circumstances but monoclonal antibody treatment MAY be a possibility even for your son. The following is for Minnesota but it’s probably based upon national criteria.
