You know, when I was a kid, I would read Orwell, and Kafka, and Aldous Huxley, and I was smug. Naively smug. Quaint stories that apply to other places, other countries. Not the USA.
What Orwell and Kafka and Huxley were TRYING to tell me was, QUIT BEING NAIVELY SMUG!
