Nothing is permanently deleted unless they used a shredding software, and even then.

Are they going to attempt to recall the data?

Sorry that’s not true. Dominion repartioned and reformed the disk before installing a fresh image which destroyed the original image data. This was an intentional destruction of forensic evidence.

that is not true, if you overwrite sectors on hard drives multiple times (dod wipe) data cannot be recovered.

when you have large database files and they are deleted and partially overwritten it becomes very difficult to recover. In reality it is almost not possible.

They were re-imaging the drives. That makes it pretty hard to recover data. They also showed that there two partisans. Then after the re-image there were 4.

Where did you get that idea? As soon as a disk cluster is freed it can be filled with other data.

Some data remains when deleted but it’s completely unreliable. What do you think happens when you fill a disk, delete 10% of it, and fill that part? You think the old data is still around?
