The strange part of the story: We had our four kids up for our summer get together. All of them were vaxxed. Two of the boys had cold symptoms, which didn't raise an alarm to me, because of their vaccination. We probably got it from one of them.
Along with our daughter, two sons have now tested positive since we did. Only one of the four came back with a negative test, the only one who did not get any symptoms.
Our doctor daughter, and respiratory therapist son stood by the proclamation that I was more at risk for a bad case than my wife, because I wasn't vaxxed. I am convinced my strong immune system is why I have turned the corner quicker than my wife.
I am thankful to be where we are, knowing how bad this can get, thankful it has been mild, and hopeful it will be gone soon.
Thank you for that info.
Very much appreciated.
Prayers for a speedy/complete recovery, for all.
So glad to hear you are on the mend. Will keep you in prayers.
It's a common myth repeated by everyone, everywhere. But it's not true. It came from a reasonable source, the vaccine trials. But the number of breakthrough infections in the trials were tiny, dozens. The fact that none or few of them were severe had no statistical significance. The same claim was repeated for all the trials but all of them had the same problem, small numbers.
Actual data: 5,000 breakthrough cases in Mass. 80 deaths, 1.6% mortality. No difference from the unvaccinated cases.
