Brazil don’t do corn ethanol. They use sugar cane which is three times more ethanol per hectare sometimes 6 times more. They use corn for cattle feed, Brazil is one of the world’s leaders in cattle exports. Sugar cane ethanol has a solidly positive EROI unlike corn where it can and often is negative. They burn the cane left overs for steam to boil out the alcohol unlike the USA where the stalks are left in the fields to rot.
