One year he got hold of a 1966 Chrysler Imperial. What a tank. It was a beater alright but man that thing was solid. A car like that today would plow through any crowd of snowflakes like a runaway locomotive.
I do too. I once pulled turned onto a one way street in which the traffic would have come from the left. I only looked left, saw it was clear, and started my turn, when along from the right comes a bicycle riding in the wrong direction. Fortunately I was able to stop, but I always check to see if some numbskull like that is coming from the wrong side.
It stirs the imagination. :D
I’ve had a minor head on collision with a guy who turned on to the 3-lane 1-way boulevard I was motoring down. I was in the far left lane of three, I had cars to my right so had no where to go, stood on it and activated the ABS, couldn’t stop in time. Totally his fault, so I had the rare front end damage wreck that I was totally not at fault over.
LOL! It does indeed. One year year my friend got hold of a ‘68 Bonneville two door hard top with a 428 engine.
It was in in pretty good shape. Body needed a little bit of work and once it was done he had it painted a dark metallic green and sold it (this was 1978) for about $5,000.
We drove it a bit. Man, that V8 engine!
Boy those were the days when a car was a car!
