This is simply a tell that a socialist revolution is underway and that “patriot” has been identified by the revolutionaries as a code word for counter-revolutionary.
It is no crime to be a counter-revolutionary since this is essentially a stand in defense of the constitution. And that is a patriotic stance, in fact, the only genuine one that exists really.
Thus to be a patriot is now an Orwellian thought crime in the new regime. The question is, will people continue to muddle along in the apparently deluded belief that this is a normal situation and that it could return to the configuration of 2017-20, or will they begin to accept that a revolution is underway? The consensus about where the revolution has reached has yet to be determined, I would say that this opinion varies from “considerable entrenchment” to “early stages” to “all talk so far.”
I am in the “considerable entrenchment” camp. I don’t think there are many who would say the revolution is a completed done deal that is irreversible. But time is running out on a solution to that looming outcome, and post-revolutionary America will look like Canada which has seen a successful leftist revolution since 2015 (and most here are in total denial of this fact).
