Factoring into all of this: No nuclear armed country has ever suffered a successful conventional invasion, lost territory or been forced into an unfavorable peace. You are right about Siberia and Russia’s Pacific Asiatic territories. While it is tempting, China would risk nuclear war if they invaded. Taiwan is not protected by a nuclear umbrella. Or is it?
