Asymptomatic spread still doesn’t explain why we haven’t reached herd immunity in areas with 85%+ immunity (vaccinated plus post infectious populations).

The Asymptomatic spread hypothesis was the main argument for the shutdowns and the “two weeks to stop the spread”, because we couldn’t just rely on symptomatic people to quarantine. But it’s not as strong a point (if it’s even true) for vaccination. We are already showing signs that vaccinating the population is not stopping this covid variant. To go one level further, if you can be spread it while being asymptomatic and post infection or while having antibodies, there is no reason to force everyone to vaccinate at all!
