Now that we can vaccinate the teachers, it should be less of a worry to open the schools, etc. All along it was less about protecting the students than it was about protecting the adults and the students’ own families, but now that the vaccine exists (for over half a year!), and is safe and effective, that is clearly the right approach.
And again, if people have special immune issues, that’s a different matter, but anyone simply too stubborn to get the vaccine, I see no reason why society should go out of our way to protect them. Say hi to Darwin.
