Company Behind Keystone XL Pipeline Seeks $15 Billion in Damages From US Government After Biden Revokes Permit

The company behind Keystone XL Pipeline is seeking $15 billion in damages from the US government after Joe Biden revoked its permit in January.

TC Energy announced it filed a Notice of Intent to initiate a NAFTA claim to recover “economic damages” caused by Biden’s move to cancel permits previously approved by Trump.

“TC Energy will be seeking to recover more than US$15 billion in damages that it has suffered as a result of the U.S. Government’s breach of its NAFTA obligations,” the company said in a press release.

Joe Biden’s first order of business was to kill tens of thousands of jobs.

On his first day in office, Biden signed an executive order canceling construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline which would have carried oil from Canada to the United States.

21 states, with Texas and Montana leading the charge, sued Joe Biden earlier this year over his decision to revoke the Keystone Pipeline XL permit.

A coalition of 21 states with Republican attorneys general filed a lawsuit against Biden and argued that revoking the cross-border permit is a “regulation of interstate and international commerce” and that only Congress can make the decision.

If they win it would be too bad that the money couldn’t come out of Democrats pockets only.

The only suit that might have a chance would be a suit against Biden for hurting the environment by killing the pipeline. This would be easy to define and demonstrate, and it’s about Gaia. Everybody loves Gaia.

They also need to pay damages to the rest of us for having to pay more for gasoline. Its like the Bidens have oil interests outside of the US or something.

Warren Buffett wants the pipeline closed. Nuff said.
Now his railroad can get the contracts to move the oil.
But that’s not environmentally safe to move the oil by car!
So what? Move along.

this is incrementalism

can further the goal of pushing more folks to hybrid/ev’s

can increase gas prices, which means less money for things they dont want you buying

destroys decent us jobs

keeps middle class down and/or pushes some into lower class

talking points for ecofreaks

Bingo. Closure of the pipeline had nothing to do with the environment. It was all about lining the pockets of the corporate elite.

Hell. It is a win-win for Leftists.

They lose the suit.

They print the money.

They wash their hands.

Keystone isn’t coming back. For a while, at least.

For them, they probably think that is worth it.

Someone is making money off the pipeline cancellation. I see lots more oil tankers going South to the Texas refineries on the KCS-Canadian Pacific railroad line by my house.

.........soon it will be proven that the Democrats Stole the election which led to retard Joe being in the Oval Office which culminated in the XL Pipeline cancellation. The Democrat Party should then be joined in the lawsuit and whatever judgment, if any, is ultimately handed down should be paid in full by the marxist Dems not the taxpayers.
