I never really followed the inside baseball of politics until I retired and had the time to follow and read up on what was going on in the Slimy Swamp and Deep State of DC.
But to be benevolent to him, Trump is a newbie when it comes to politics and as such, he probably didn't know how bad the swamp was until he got mired in it. Many people, including myself, thought many of these political types and institutional bureaucratic types were not the bad guys. But they turned out to be after Trump exposed them.
Remember, he went from business man straight to the top of the political world. Who else had ever done that? Even Reagan was governor of California before made the leap to president. Trump had been around politicians and knew a lot of them but not as president. There were a lot of backstabbers and saboteurs waiting in the wings to attack him and do the bidding of the Deep State and the Uniparty.
I don't blame Trump so much as I blame the two-faced bad guys playing the power game instead of working for the good of the country. At every turn, Trump had to draw on and rely on people who were against him and traitors to run the government for him. I think it is amazing he got as much done as he did given the relentless attacks he was under from the very beginning.
I just know that many people who I thought were stand up guys turned out to be slithering snakes in the grass when it came to their true intentions. And I know that now becasue of Trump.
