Not much has changed. What has changed is that now you are hearing about it(MUCH to the consternation of those who want to keep such information from you) When I was in LE in the 80’s I dealt with these savages over 40 hours a week. Day in, day out... just the same damned thing. HOWEVER... you NEVER heard about it on the TV News or read it in any newspaper, it was as if it NEVER happened.

You might add to your piece....the arrival of smart-phone technology and the ability to record situations, boosted the story-telling of these incidents.
Today? All it takes for a person with a cell phones to upload the video to Facebook and/or Twitter and the whole world can see it.
How’d you get the smell out? I mean that smell gets into all fabric.......polyester of the 80s I’d think would be the worst....esp. the tree mirror ornament....jeez....
