He was definitely vaccinated and did not show COVID on admission. The way that I read it is that exposure to COVID in the hospital caused devastating results.

Yes, it looks like this 86 year old was living in a retirement home and got the 1st Pfizer shot there. 18 days later he went to the hospital for treatment of diarrhea and tested negative for COVID-19. They put the 86 year old guy in a hospital room with another patient from whom he subsequently contracted COVID. It’s not clear if he died from COVID or from whatever he was originally admitted for.
Their conclusion was…
“ In summary, the results of our autopsy case study in a patient with mRNA vaccine confirm the view that by first dose of vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 immunogenicity can already be induced, while sterile immunity is not adequately developed.”
… which we already knew.
