Hopefully he will cost them all their seats, they are just enabling Trudeau and the leftist agenda, and provide no real opposition. We would be far better off to have Max Bernier and a handful of MPs than 80 to 100 sheep who go along to get along.

Like it or not, the Conservatives is about as conservative as a party can be and be viable in Canada.
If the Liberals were really behind Max and his breakaway party, he would have gotten help from them in his riding but prominent Liberal Warren Kinsella spread the big lie about him being a neo-Nazi which hurt his chances (the Conservative won by a relatively small margin).
I don’t believe Max is any sort of secret agent for the Liberals. He has always been a libertarian, and wanted to provide a real conservative option, was defeated by a very narrow margin for the leadership in what many thought was a fixed final round, and then went off to start an alternative.
Even if let’s say he was a plant, we need a party like this and if he ever happened to be exposed as such then another leader could take over, but personally I trust him and think he is the only good alternative, other than separation of western Canada which would just drag along all our own homegrown Marxists of whom there is no shortage in any province nowadays.
I can’t understand a position where one distrusts Max Bernier but trusts Erin O’Toole or his predecessor, Andrew Scheer, who make no secret of their centrist accomodationist views. What are you trusting them to do, build three less windmills and outlaw your car in 2029 instead of 2028?
