No, they aren’t.
Both are guns. Revolvers and pistols are different. It’s how to differentiate between my .22 magnum revolver and my .40 Springfield XD pistol.
That said, they can double pound sand.
When revolvers were first invented, they were sometimes referred to as “revolving pistols”.
