I’m not one of the people who believes the election was “stolen” in a way that was never before attempted with massive fraudulent activity. I believe there is always some fraudulent activity, but the difference maker was a massive multibillion dollar effort that was legal but morally dishonest to turn out and maximize democrat votes while diminishing, neglecting, and ignoring Trump votes.
With that said, I am delighted at the vote audit efforts. Republicans have a sad and long history of rolling over and not fighting to win. Bush didn’t fight in 1992 and lost what should have been a cakewalk to reelection. In 1996, Dole feigned being a fighter but really rolled over and lost. In 2008, McCain rolled over and didn’t fight, hell, he got mad that Sarah Palin wanted to fight and he even quit campaigning in the most important months of the election so he could stay in the senate to make votes that would clearly hurt his credibility. In 2012, Romney rolled over and didn’t fight. Trump fought and beat Hillary, and he won the election. The establishment Republican party may never forgive him for that offense.
The vote audit efforts in multiple states won’t change the outcome of the election, but let’s really focus on the important stuff: the legislators who are pushing it are going to fight. They are going to win more battles in the future because they are fighters. Some will be nutcases and some will lose, but a party of fighters is what the voters have been clamoring for since the 1980’s.
Well said.
