As a former Marine myself, the Marine Corps ad makes me want to puke. "Winning battle after battle..." as if the "battle" for transgender rights is on the same plane as the Battle of Tarawa or the Battle of Chosin Reservoir. Because that's the subtext of the ad. Absolutely disgraceful.

Yes, I know that those on active duty have to follow orders, and that includes senior officers. What is needed are some high-profile resignations from general officers who can then condemn this crap openly, but as far as I can tell, we haven't gotten a single one. Which to me means that either they're fully on board with this, or they're just careerists. Neither of which speaks well of them.

I know a lot of multi-generation Marine families who have decided that enough is enough, and are discouraging their sons from carrying on that tradition. My own son had an ROTC scholarship, and but was turned off by the woke B.S. masquerading as leadership training so he punted on it. Can't say I blame him.

I get why this is happening. The Marine Corps does an admirable job of teaching its officers to be mission-oriented. To complete the task ordered regardless of the obstacles in your way is something impressed upon you from day one. But to conflate the "mission" of wokeness with the traditional mission of winning wars is a diminution of our history. And I'm ashamed of the brass that is going along with it without so much as a whimper of protest.
