They knew from the start this came from the Wuhan lab.

They covered it up because a crisis launched by a hostile foreign country's government -- even if due to incompetence and sloppiness rather than intent -- would benefit the current president.

A source reminds me that he knew about this back in March 2020.

And that source said that numerous family members of Wuhan lab researchers had covid-like symptoms. Keep your eyes open for those shoes yet to drop.

What source is that? Is there any credible, verifiable piece of information in this entire piece?

The year 2019 was particularly bad for influenza. Unless there is corroborating evidence that any of the Wuhan lab researchers had Covid-19 and not influenza, reporting that some members of the lab developed an ILI during influenza season is meaningless. Furthermore, even if some members of the lab actually caught Covid-19, that is not evidence that the lab created or released the virus. The technology to create a brand new virus does not exist; the technology to make an existing virus into a more potent pathogen is limited and highly unreliable. Plus, the signs of alteration of a natural virus are as evident as signs of Photoshopping pictures to anyone who knows anything about molecular biology.

Mother nature is perfectly capable of creating deadly viruses and has done so since life has existed. Was the Black Death created in a lab? What about rabies? Ebola? Meningitis?

I do not understand this desire to believe misinformation and conspiracies. Can someone explain it to me?

I do not understand this desire to believe misinformation and conspiracies. Can someone explain it to me?

Let me try.

First, let's define our terms. What we've been discussing over these threads is what I'd say would more properly termed the "lab leak hypothesis", and that should be framed as narrowly as possible. My stab at it would be "This virus was introduced into the human population by infecting a worker at the WIV while handling a research sample". That's clunky, but will serve.

That's a perfectly reasonable hypothesis, though given the intransigence of the CCP, it's proven impossible to falsify or prove. But why might people suspect that it's true, even though it hasn't been fully investigated?

Well, let's get back to the CCP's (and our own media and deep state's behavior) over the past 18 or so months, and apply an approach that a criminal investigator might take. The suspect's behavior has been, well, suspicious.

First the CCP hosed-down the wet market where this was supposed to have originated. That looked like destruction of evidence more than anything else.

Then people with a vested interest in 'debunking' the lab-leak hypothesis (Peter Daszak chief among them) disingenuously, and preemptively claimed "there's no evidence that this was manipulated". Wait, in polite company, that's a strawman, but in our criminal investigation analogy, it's an attempted redirection. That wasn't the claim: the claim was that the virus escaped from the lab, not that it was manipulated. It could have been both, but the first claim is not dependent on the second. Why cloud the waters?

And then, the CCP interfered with the WHO, and manipulated the team selected to "investigate" the lab to include that very same Peter Daszak, whos report preposterously concluded that the virus might have been introduced to China on frozen food.

And it's not just the CCP who have been shady. Our own Tony Fauci at first denied funding the Wuhan lab, and then only admitted that he had done so once he was caught. And the funding was done through a cutout, not directly, using Peter Daszak's NGO.

There's more, and we haven't even gotten to the claims from reputable scientists that the genome of this bug shows signs of having been manipulated, which by definition would have been done in a lab.

The CCP has been acting shady from the start. This is SOP for them, but does not tend to exonerate. As well, our own experts, Dr. Fauci most publicly among them, have been shady, evasive, and just generally exhibiting mens rea at every turn.

They are all acting like a bunch of knucklheads in the back seat of someone's patrol car, sweating and fidgeting hoping the cops don't find any hard evidence of the crime that everyone involved knows in their bones they are guilty of.

I think that's why.
