It's launch day!
SpaceX is on track to launch its Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station Launch Complex 40.
Here's what you need to know for today's launch:
• Liftoff is scheduled for 2:59 p.m.
• 60 Starlink satellites sit atop the 230-foot-tall Falcon 9 rocket.
• The launch window is instantaneous. Meaning, the rocket goes at 2:59 p.m. or it doesn’t.
• Weather forecast is 90% "go" at the launch pad.
• Approximately eight minutes after liftoff, the Falcon 9 rocket's first-stage booster will target an automatic landing on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean.
• If successful, SpaceX will have nearly 1,700 internet-beaming Starlink satellites in orbit.
• Full coverage of the launch kicks off at 2 p.m.
Wednesday at floridatoday.com/space and will feature in-depth coverage. Ask our space team reporter Emre Kelly questions and strike up a conversation. We will also be hosting SpaceX's live webcast of the launch.
Here is SpaceX YouTube Channel who will have the launch also....

As long as I’m up anyway, what are the chances of seeing a Starlink string in the lunar eclipse sky near the leftist coast?
Isn’t this in the afternoon?
The satellite train passed by my area several months ago. It was pretty cool. I’m sure you’ve seen pics of thrm in other areas. I didn’t realize they were doing another grouping
I saw one of those creepy conga lines in the sky a few months ago...
=8-0
Oops, right you are.
I don’t brain well in the wee-wee hours of the morning...
Soon there will be over ten million satellites in orbit
That’s ok I think it has changed to June 3 ? Or is this something different. ?
Date: June 3, 2021 - 1:29 p.m. Eastern
Mission: NASA’s SpaceX Commercial Resupply Mission-22
Description: The next in the series of SpaceX cargo resupply missions to the International Space Station. Launching from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida
https://www.nasa.gov/launchschedule/
Two different launches, one is to resupply the space station and the launch today is to add 60 more satellites to the Starlink constellation for the worldwide internet service being offered by Starlink
I am waiting on the Starlink IPO.
That stock will take off like a rocket!
I think so too....I don’t know for sure, but I think they are the only company in the world that will be able to offer internet service worldwide, most countries have 1 maybe 2 or 3 companies that offer internet service in that country but none that I know of offer service all over the world....
It’s $100/month for the service right now, 1 million customers means $100 million/month or 1.2 billion a year in revenue....
Let’s say it’s 10 million customers which I think is conservative...that’s 12 billion a year in revenue...
At those numbers it’s going to be a huge cash cow...
Thanks !
Elon Musk is saying $30 billion and hope to get $50 billion a year. Not just internet but phone service too plus I bet a cut of the streaming movies/tv/music.
