It won't. It will only get worse.
It’s been happening, sporadically, all across the nation, even here in Florida.
They find a house that is empty, and bust the locks and move in.
Then when the police come they say they own the place or are long term leaseholders.
The police then are basically hogtied because it becomes a civil matter, not a criminal one.
Eventually they are evicted after a long court battle and trash the house upon exiting.................

100% and some don’t have that... they voted us into this hole
Yes, it has been going on for quite some time.................
Sounds like the neighborhood needed to throw a party for them.
Ted Bundy kidnapped a few of his victims from Lake Sammamish State Park back in the 70’s. He would wear a fake cast on his arm and ask single girls to help him load his boat or something similar.
Oh Jeez that’s funny.
I vaguely remember their story, of course back in the ‘70s.
Had I lived nearby, I would have walked over to the police and said that I had heard through the grapevine that there were vigilantes that lived in the neighborhood but that they would only take care of matters if the police were absent.
Things have really changed since I left WA state 21 years ago. I’m familiar with this area. I knew people that lived in that general area and I used to fish and swim in lake Sammamish.
King county cops would have never allowed such crime. All the Liberal yuppies that took over the Pine lake plateau and created a city there, deserve their fates.
IIRC WA residents have way more powers to protect their property, up to and including Deadly force, than cops do, but the owner has to be present.
It is not their job to protect you or your property.
Most Democrats forget that.
This is why I’ve said for years that I feel like I’m living in Dr. Zhivago but without the love triangle.
I call them the Inverted Fried Chicken Bucket Brigade. Always wondered if they kept an extra drumstick or thigh under those buckets in case they got hongry.
[[the law, never very friendly, is going to be tilted so radically against us that there is no reason to keep up our business. ]]
The problem is- they keep driving law abiding people away- and then spreading to more andm ore towns, and pretty soon the majority of America will be just lawless- the only ones not committing crimes will be the law abiding citizens who aren’t scumbag neerdowells like the thieves who are driving them away- Lawless punks and muslims demanding sharia law, no cops, etc, are taking over the country- town by town- driving law abiding citizens further and further away- pretty soon there won’t be anywhere left for the law abiding to go-
bttt
Yes, and it seems that the absent owner is as much at fault, but not properly securing his property arranging proper security, getting necessary quarter legal action to protect it. I suspect there’s more to the story than is being shared.
I’m not sure what laws in Washington allow squatting and prohibit its prosecution. I doubt any such is on the books. What probably has happened is that somebody presented forged documents giving them “permission” to occupy the house. The owner is overseas and it is probably very slow going contesting any claims that he knew the house was occupied.
You can be sure the squatters are well organized and are getting very expensive legal help courtesy of whatever cartel or other gang they are part of. It is wrong. Very wrong. But it is not because Democrats allow it. Criminal enterprises are very good at twisting nuances in the laws to their advantage.
If you have teenagers it probably is a must have.
If somebody would just paint the Battle field flag of the 1st Army of Northern Virginia on the house. That would get those bums flushed out.
This headline can equally be used against the CDC’s ‘ban’ on evictions that apparently continues even now after a year of Covid. Any number of stories on how rental homes are being trashed and landlords being mocked by free-loaders.
Thus the truism about the road to hell being paved with good intentions?
