An interesting article in The Epoch Times told of Chinese citizens who are going on line with an alias and declaring they don’t believe in the CCP any more. Evidently there are a quarter of a million declarations thus far.
The article talks about the couple years prior to the dissolution of the Soviet Union when a similar disbelief in communism spread through the population. The hopeful implication is that China may be facing the same problem of an increasingly reluctant citizenry. Perhaps this is why Xi is bringing down the hammer so much lately. And is why China is no longer ruled by the CCP; it is a tyranical dictatorship run by Xi, recently declared leader for life.
China is now over 70 years from the revolutionary takeover by the CCP. Subsequent generations become less and less ideological and less dedicated to the founding revolutionary ideals.
The U.S. has the same problem
