We had to go through Carter years before we got Ronald Reagan.
Just saw a $10 ribeye get priced at $19 in my Giant grocery store today. Not sure if it was a temporary shortage or a permanent one, but did not buy any.
I think what is going to go up will be energy this coming winter. We have supply chain problems so grabbing food you can store up for the winter while we are in our growing season is probably a good idea. You’ll have the food when it is no longer our growing season, and if energy costs go up you will be better able to absorb the cost if you aren’t spending on food.
Maybe buy a candle from the Dollar Store and put on some Barry White music.
It's not restricted to food.
Everyone, in every case and circumstance, will pay the price.
Property taxes are a killer!!
I think many people will cut out so-called junk food and rely more on vegetables and fruit, and maybe chicken. Then again, what is healthiest tends to be more expensive.
OR.....McD’s will be much cheaper for families and that’s where they’ll end up.
That ramen noodle soup went from $1.94 to $2.27 for 12 about five months ago.
What is the price on 24 in your town?
Dude.
Your post #15 is one of the best I’ve seen around here in a long time.
I’m not sure at the store, but $3.72 on Amazon.
I’m going to the store in an hour, I’ll let you know.
There is very little food inflation in my area.
Chinese manufactured goods are up about 10%.
Housing stuff is up much, much more.
Eat more rice and beans...laid aside a bunch...
“If food gets that high the government will have to pay it or face civil war.”
There is no such thing as government money when it is circling the toilet.
Make your own way.
Coral Gables, FL house 1956 - $42,500
same house 2021 - $2,400,000
This guy has predicting mega doom forever. Its really deceitful and dishonest.
There is a mid-1970’s “Columbo” episode that had a man paying $73/month for a room in Los Angeles.
“If food gets that high the government will have to pay it or face civil war.”
A few years back the Argentine government put a payable in-kind tax on Argentine farm output.
Chemical prices going way up, too. Ramen = no answer!
“What Will You Do When Inflation Forces U.S. Households To Spend 40 Percent Of Their Incomes On Food?”
Complain like a Lebanese citizen.
Also, there are plenty of deer, turkey, rabbits, and pigs in the woods on the other side of the river.
They will not last long when 100’s of people are hunting them every day. Depression wiped out whole states of deer 90 years ago
My blue state county spends over 60% of our ridiculous property taxes on social services. We are done. Selling our house before the next increase.
