Yes,
That was the end of the states having a say, i.e. House = the populist vote by the people, Senate = States.
The balance of power shifted over time and government itself is at fault for this. Those doing this knew very well that what they were doing was outright against the intent of the Founding Fathers and despite their oath did this.
But party politics, short sighted and at times ideologically driven decision making, as well as personal interests ultimately supersede all else. Look at the Covid shut down, after the BP oil spill the offshore drilling restrictions, after Fukushima the cancelling of nuclear expansion, how we left Iraq because that was a campaign promise and we had to be out 1 year before the elections, closing of GITMO now (pragmatism, science, strategic thinking? Hahahaha)... It is astonishing that a nation such as ours has survived as long as it has. We are incredibly stupid.
Today the US is just a mere shade off from some Euro-style social-economy, and we are moving rapidly to catch up with the last few differences.
The US Constitution is dead, the processes and systems are all distorted. The Bill of Rights don’t exist, not one single one has not been abridged and today government tells you how to interpret your rights. You have massive centralization of power, and basically a technocracy is running this country, if Fauci advises, the churches close, as do schools, restaurants, beaches, stores... and those not dancing to some government bureaucrats tune may face stiff fines or even imprisonment, all in the name of “science.” Hahahaha
You are right.
No one wants to be associated with a negative entity in history, but that is about accurate.
Does the FBI do it’s political masters bidding? Yes. Examples: Trump Tower surveillance, Comey leaks, the 6 January “insurrection” and how the FBI reacted...
Is the FBI fair and consistent in applying the law? No. See HRC and her server, while at the exact same time the FBI was going after a sailor who dared take pictures of where he lived and worked inside a submarine.
Does the FBI enforce the core ideas of the US Constitution it is supposedly sworn to defend? No. Today everything is up for re-interpretation and the FBI in fact is willing to take actions that entirely contradict Constitutional tenets/concepts if it benefits them. Example: the peoples privacy and how that is being violated in mass with warrant-less searches in the digital world, National Security Letters, FISA courts.
I am sure the FBI has many fine people working for it, and I mean that. But organizationally, the FBI can no longer be trusted and frankly probably never could. Even FDR was using them to do his dirty work, spying on opponents, going after them, etc...
https://www.nytimes.com/1975/12/04/archives/new-jersey-pages-fbi-is-accused-of-political-acts-for-6-presidents.html Is this really new? No.
It’s just becoming more prevalent, apparent, and without consequence. Government is becoming so big and powerful, and the people so compliant that they can tell someone to take their shoes off, empty their bags and walk through an X-ray machine, and 98% of the people will do it, without a warrant, complaint, or concern. If Fauci while wearing a white lab coat tells the people to close the churches, guess what they do? And if told to confiscate peoples private owned firearms tomorrow, guess what most of those folks with their badges and guns in the FBI would do?
The FBI is just another government bureaucracy. They have their own organizational interests, you have individuals with their own interests, and they know what hand feeds them (i.e. they are loyal not to a Constitution, but their political masters).
You can trust them if they are working some low level crime. But anything that has a political aspect to it, they CANNOT be trusted.
Hahahaha
Government is a political beast, all of it.
(A quick look into our recent history and just two examples)
When B. Clinton was in, he funneled millions from the VA to conduct AIDS research. Not sure how that helped the vets much, but it did buy him points for his re-election and the VA did as they were told, even though their charter is to take care of vets. Likewise, when B. Clinton was in, he used the FBI to go after “dead beat dads.” Yeah, no kidding, that was a big media story so of course political opportunism dictates that you need to throw yourself in front of this issue, and the DOJ was expending massive resources to go after someone that “maybe” late on a child support payment - that ended when 9-11 happened.
These government agencies and departments are often used as political instruments to either take a swipe at ones opponent, as with the collection on Trump Tower and use of FISA powers to basically collect on Trump and feed this information to his opponents, Fauci and Covid which was not unlike the Reichstag fire (it won Biden his Presidency), or to promote oneself when Obama sends out a check (tax money) to folks with his campaign logo on it (LOL - how more blatant can you get in buying votes?).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reichstag_fire
All the heads of these agencies and departments are political appointees and one to two levels down all the senior executive management are hand picked (based on their political affiliation and willingness to play ball). These organizations are looking to expand their scope (grow in responsibility), and in manpower and budget. As to their customers, some Constitutional responsibility... that all comes second and it can be easily seen when you have a conflict. Example: the DOJ and under it the FBI has the charter to protect and defend the US Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. But what happens when it serves the best interests of the DOJ and FBI to conduct massive surveillance in a manner which is flagrantly against the US Constitution in it’s implied concept of privacy and need for a warrant? Guess what interest wins, always!
