I firmly believe that the Hospitals get good money for every Covid patient.

Yeah, and if the hospital can’t save ‘em, the taxpayers will cover the burial expenses.

No “doubt” nor “firmly convinced” (as if they were not being paid) needed: $38,000.00 per case. And the latest Joe Biden pander move: Illegal aliens get 9,000.00 for “burial assistance” if ANY member of their family “died of CV-19” ANYTIME during last year.

So an illegal alien merely needs to claim a Covid death to get money.

I read awhile back hospitals were paid an extra $50,000+ dollars for a Covid patient on a vent.

Would like to see if there is a difference in the percentage of Covid diagnosis rate between cooperate hospitals and religious based hospitals.

Its fact. Your belief is based in fact.

It’s not a belief. It’s the truth. I’m an ER doctor. It gets mentioned in charts if if the visit can in anyway conceivably be COVID related even if it’s likely not such as a COPD or asthma exacerbation. If I don’t have the test back at the time of charting then how do I really know if it’s not COVID related is how it’s rationalized. People with COVID get GI symptoms too. Might as well put that in the chart of the 20 year old with nausea and vomiting. The list goes on and on. We just stick a generic statement in the chart so the coders will see it. It works to catch more reimbursement particulalrly in patient’s that are self pay (ie, not insured). That’s the grift on my level. It gets played in different ways all over the system. Most hospitals actually operate on pretty small margins. Many have been significantly larger thanks to the CARES Act. Like lost of the money our government distributes, it’s not equitable. The individuals or groups that play the game the best reap the largest rewards.
