I know a bit about CPS in Ohio and if a kid wants to be taken there, the foster home really sucks.
I know quite a bit about Franklin County children’s service also. I could tell a story that would blow minds, but it spans five years.........the social workers are untrained, incompetent, and mostly uninterested in protecting children. BUT, the supervisors are liars, even under sworn oath, and take actions bordering on criminality. So you are right, any kid who wants to go back to them has to be desperate.
The foster home where Ma’kia lived probably doesn’t have more than 1200 SF and I am betting three bedrooms, there is no way ten kids could remotely live safely and healthy in a home that size. I would assume it was a foster home children’s farm for money.
