That sounds like good advice for all foreign policy. Domestic policies too for that matter.
But I don't think the Manson Family currently occupying the White House can do anything without emotion.
“In the same way, the strength of the Soviet Union was overestimated before its fall in December of 1991 or the Japanese economy from 1986 to 1991, today people tend to exaggerate the strength of China.”
I might have owned a few postage stamps and books printed in Russia back in 1991.
China fills the shelves of Wal-Mart except the food and personal care sections and parts of the gardening and automotive sections.
The US economy is run on scams like the PPACA that can have you pays millions of dollars for drugs for a single person in just one year.
I was just looking at the Florida Building Code about two hours ago. It’s enough to make your head spin.
The main difference between the USSR and China are these:
1) The USSR was NOT capitalistic, in was pure socialism. China uses capitalism under the control of the Communist regime.
2) China has 4 times America’s population. The USSR’s population was MUCH LESS than the USA.
3) We did not have anything manufactured in the Soviet Union. Today, we have practically MOST THINGS that we buy made in China ( including key technological components and medicines ).
4) The Soviet Union did not own America’s debt. China owns a huge chunk of our debt.
We have a stupid President that just promised the equivalent of running half the houses and motor vehicles on renewable/nuclear energy in about eight and a half years.
We can’t build a nuclear plant that fast.
Solar cells are made in China and there is no guarantee that they will sell us the ~10 billion high-output solar panels needed to meet Joe’s pledge, never mind the rare earth metals needed for ~100 million high-horsepower electric car motors.
I feel like a traitor every time I am forced to buy a made in China product because there is not one made in the USA . I hate that. I hate globalism.
Bkmk
Then you should be supporting the business of MyPillow’s Mike Lindell.
He was approached by Chinese businessman sometime back to have his pillows manufactured in China but he refused, preferring to make them in America and create jobs here.
“both China and Japan for years have been busy supporting zombie companies”
Their zombie companies mainly pay their own way.
Our welfare recipients are generally near total leeches.
I support across the board import tariffs NOW!!!
I bought some pillows recently.
The outers were weaved and sewn in China.
The outers were then stuffed in the USA, sewn shut and placed in plastic bags.
I believe the majority of imports from China are tariffed at substantial percentages like ~25%.
I’m with you on that.
When I left to go to college in the 1970’s the New Jersey Turnpike was lined with chemical factories for dozens of miles.
They’re pretty much gone.
“built ‘re-education camps’ in an attempt to bring these people into the “modern, civilized” world promote what the government calls ‘ethnic unity.’”
The Chinese government has become more heavy-handed.
There is an old Western saying: “Let sleeping dogs lie.”
Then you should be supporting the business of MyPillow’s Mike Lindell.

Great if I need pillows and bedding. Not much else out there from non-woke, non-communist Chinese companies
(LG and Samsung are two companies that pulled all manufacturing out of China)
If the Red Chinese were to launch a war anywhere in Asia or even against the US, they won’t give a damn about their casualties (which they can afford in both a non-nuclear war and a nuclear war). The same for economic “debt” etc.
They’ve got enough people to rebuild while we’re still burying our dead and putting whole islands/cities off limits due to the destruction and nuclear radiation.
They have only 3 years to make their move while ComSymp Biden/Harris/Kerry and their surrender monkeys are in power. Less time if the Republicans retake the House in 2022.
Only time will tell.
No. Let me explain.
They are part of the $250 billion worth of Chinese goods that the U.S. hit with tariffs last year. It was not immediately clear how large a portion of the overall tariffs is covered by the exclusions. The exemptions stem from more than 1,100 exclusion requests made by companies and other entities in the United States, according to the documents.
Let me interpret this for you. We import over $500B/yr form China. So half comes in duty free. The other half tariff'ed at I think around 8%. So the revenue generated is around 20-25B with an effective tariff rate of < 4%.
