The picture in the article has a white police officer but in the body of the text no mention of the officer’s race was made. For all we know the officer could also be black.

If it's this far into the news cycle, then it's a safe bet that those pushing the story have done their due diligence and they know that the cop is white. (He might be a white hispanic, but he's still "white".)
