Many might remember singer Teena Marie, or they might remember the big radio hit called Lovergirl, which was popular on this date back in 1985.
Anyway, many might not realize that when she was just 8 years old in 1964, she had a bit role as an aspiring tap-dancing girl on the Beverly Hillbillies with a rather pushy mother. The show featured her interacting with Jed and Granny with the usual hi-jinks that accompanied that show.
Then a freak accident happened to her in 2004 when she was sleeping in her hotel room. A large picture frame crashed down from the wall and struck her in the head. From that point on, she would have random seizures until she was found dead on December 26, 2010.
The cause of death was never conclusively determined but I'm thinking that falling picture frame had something to do with it.
Touché Au Lait!
Or was it Touché Olé?
I think Rick James produced that album of hers.
But I suppose the moral here is don’t put nails in drywall and expect it to hold a picture frame. And don’t use tied up strings of metal wire. I don’t know what the words for these tools are but learned the best way to hang a heavy picture is to screw a long 45 degree cut piece of wood into the wall, and screw the opposite side of that wedge onto the frame. Then it just slides in and hangs on and distributes the weight better.
Professionals these days mount a bracket on the wall and then mount the frame onto the bracket. Makes it difficult to move them at all without the tools to unlatch it from the mount.
I’ve had small picture frames hang from drywall for years. If it’s heavy like a large framed mirror, I screw into a stud. No problem there.
We do too. We also sometimes put some stick-um in the corners so they don’t slide around. But with heavy art and especially at the office or in trade show exhibits we gotta be extra safety concerned.
I’m more interested in finding out what was going on in the room next door...
...and if there’s video.
What was the name of the stud?????
butterfly drywall anchor...
French cleat, methinks. But, have any pro football players with a history of concussions passed away suddenly, inexplicably?
It’s called a French cleat.
French cleat. Thank you.
I don’t know how many football players died suddenly from concussion related injuries. A few dramatic exits with firearms in recent years, though. Sad. I’d imagine that the concussions themselves aren’t the direct cause of death but that they lead to other problems such as in this case, periodic seizures. Or tinnitus. Or depression. Etc.
Surprisingly, no one has said this yet. I am going to get it over with.
Sounds like she was framed.
Brad.
What does that mean? Certainly doesn't sound like a typical Christian response to the death of a fellow christian.........
But then again, all sense of decency from alleged Christians has fallen to the wayside........
Drywall anchor or fastener into stud.
I don’t know what it means or if I even remember it correctly. It’s one of the lyrics in that song.
Sounds like she was framed.
Ha, Ha, love the morbid humor from you so called Christians...... hypocrites........
Just like this country, even this site is devolving into crap.........
Does it really matter when the thread is about the death of a person?
What the F is going on with this site anyway...........
