Awesome! I was considering getting an LTC but leery about being on another list in case the demon-crats try gun grabs.

It would be huge if Texas passed constitutional carry. That would really turbocharge the movement toward more restoration of gun rights.

When this bill passes I encourage all that are not familiar with firearms to get some training by someone that knows. It will make you safer and more proficient.

Of the six states in New England, half of them have Constitutional Carry.

It’s LONG overdue in Texas.

This has happened many times only to be shut down in the Senate or by the governor. Until it’s signed into law, or better becomes part of the Texas Constitution I’ll not get excited about this

“Constitutional Carry Passes Texas House!
Politics
Apr 15
Written By David A. Phaup
For years Texas lagged behind peers in support of the second amendment. Before today, 19 states had pro-gun laws on the books giving citizens the right to carry without a permit. Today, the Texas House of Representatives led by Matt Schaefer (Rep. - TX 6) and supported by a Republican majority passed constitutional carry.

The bill will move to the Texas Senate after the third and final reading in the house where it will then be in the hands of Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and Senator Brian Birdwell.”

An LTC means skipping the Brady Bill rigamaole. No waiting. While the wait is usually real long, I like skipping it altogether. And if you join the Garand Collectors Association the LTC meets your range time requirements. Then you can get a Civilian Marksmanship Program M1 Garand. Shipped right to your house or business. Sweet!

What is missed in this debate is the benefit of having an LTC is not having to go through a 4473 background check with every purchase of a firearm especially when the feds slow walk and sometimes just hold applications. With an LTC as long as it’s valid you fill out the form sign it and walk out. I buy multiple at a time and with my LTC It’s a signal form and ten min to fill it out then I’m free to go. I won’t be giving up my LTC any time soon for this very reason. In Texas active duty get LTC for free. Veterans is 27 bucks for 5 years and former LEO is free for life. Active duty, reserves with a less than one year old.pistol qual don’t even need to qual at the range.

I’m still looking, found this from gunowners.org so far

https://texas.gunowners.org/texas-house-passes-constitutional-carry/

and these:

So as of Apr 15, it passed the Texas house, 84 - 56, headed for the senate, Abbott says send it already, my pen’s just a burnin’ up...
