My only quibble with this article is this quote:

The basis for the Electoral College is found in Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution, which spells out how the president shall be chosen. It gives each state “in such manner as the legislature thereof may direct” electors equal to its representation in Congress.

The citation is sloppy and makes it sound like the state may direct the voting of the electors.

The actual citation in Article II Section 1 is this:

Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors...

Notice that the author left out the preceding word "appoint." When this word is included prior to the power of "in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct," it suggests that the power to "direct" is limited to the appointment of electors, but not how they must vote.

It's true that the method of selecting electors is to have each party provide a slate of pre-approved electors for their candidate, and the party that wins the statewide vote sends their slate of electors to the Electoral College. Since these pre-approved slates of electors are state party insiders, they will vote for their party's candidate anyway.

Not the consequence of RINOs. It was their goal. The GOP is Controlled Opposition.

We had the presidency and both houses and they did nothing. The GOP is worthless.

The GOP is worthless.

Once people can wrap their minds around the simple premise that the GOP, save for a handful of true Patriots, actually plays for the opposing team, everything you scratch your head about with regard to them becomes much clearer.

Some consideration should be given to terminating the winner take all of each states (48 states) electoral college votes and instituting a Congressional District Majority system. The conservative non-city vote would usually overcome the urban communist vote.

Right now, all it would take for them to do it is to simply say it’s done.

It’s not like there’s any real effort remaining to constrain or control the depraved degenerates anymore.

Losing popular vote in 2016 ? — they almost stole it then and practiced in

gubernatorial elections since then. Trump won the popular in ‘16.

Biden’s next E/O should take care of that pesky Electoral College.

Just a few months ago, Gropin’ Joe got 80 MILLION votes and won key battleground states after they all took a collective coffee break. Why blow up the Electoral College now?

Every time the RINOs get a majority they blow... it. The last time that commie Ryan caved.

Let’s see. 2/3 vote aye in both houses and then 3/4 of the states to ratify it

Amazing how many Freepers still think that a Constitution with no enforcers really matters. The democrats will just ignore anything they don't want.

When a society is lawless, only the lawless have any power.

What’s most amazing to me is why the Republicans can’t be as aggressive for their causes...

Because all they need then is Chicago, NY, Detroit, Philly, LA, St. Louis, San Fran, Houston, Dallas and the election is over!

Again they don’t blow it. They want to be in the minority and secure their phoney baloney jobs. Much easier than representing your constituency

That is entirely up to the State legislators and I doubt you could ever get universal agreement on any subject. Not even what determines the sex of babies.
