I don’t get the “silence is violence” thing.

What exactly do these mobs expect of people sitting in a restaurant? Unknown to these thugs, some of those people just sitting having dinner actually are liberal and support them, but they aren’t demonstrating publicly.

I wonder about the mindset of these people. Do they really think they endear people to their cause, by getting in their faces in public places?

Does Black Lives Matter really attract more support, by staging riots?

I hope and pray it’s not a long hot summer but who knows anymore.

These mobs aren’t trying to convince anyone of anything. This is political terrorism and the very last thing they want is for their chosen victims to agree with them. The message is clear: “We have the police, the courts, and the politicians on our side and we can do anything we want to you.” Which apparently they can.

Erik Larson wrote a book about pre-War Berlin, “In the Garden of Beasts” describing Berlin after the Nazis took power. When the S.A. marched down the street with their flags and all, Germans were expected to stop and give the Nazi salute. Failing to do so could result in a beating. (Foreigners were exempt, but you had to quickly convince the thugs that you weren’t German).

The mobs expect you to raise your fist in solidarity with them. Right now, they are restrained and just shout in your face, perhaps spit in your food and take your drinks. The public beatings will quite likely follow.
