Not just hospitality workers.. had a guy give me an estimate on a concrete patio.. same on that did my asphalt driveway. Said he had to close the asphalt side down because he couldn’t hire any workers.. they all stay home, get unemployment and their stimulus checks and won’t work.
Sad day in hell for this country.

I am going through a head hunting company for production workers. Which is good because they are typically motivated to work.
Paying above the area norm to, but about half are begging to be laid off so they can not work.
Moot point in a few months if the supply issues don’t smooth out, and TX is going dark, again.
The local pizza joint laid off people last year due to COV19.
Between state unemployment compensation, $300.00 a week and the federal add-in of $600.00. The laid off workers were making $900 a week compared to $500 a week for a 40 hour week.
I was lucky to have had my concrete driveway done a year ago. Have not seen any concrete ads this year on local Craigslist! Other skilled trades just as bad. So I am doing most of my own work, but slowly.
