Be a shame if they “disappeared” after being released...
I expect that that may begin happening if the law does not get its act together.
Criminal gangs may set up a ‘hit’ service to deal with the perpetrators. Prices may be relatively cheap for a hit. There might be a lot of customers. And the gangs could use minors for the job just in case they are caught. There may be local places where some things will never be found. The everglades, the swamps in Louisiana, dense forests and so on.
Grim possibility, but where justice is denied, revenge becomes an option.
