I am a university math lecturer, and I NEARLY did the same thing while having a conversation with someone who had walked into my office. I was telling this person about a student who never showed up for a single test and the Final Exam, but then had the nerve to ask me for the grade of 'I' (incomplete) instead of 'F'. I told the person that the student was "black", but instead of saying it out loud, I mouthed the word "black" and went on to say that I looked them up and saw that every other professor they had gave them the grade of 'I'. So I said to the person that I ended up letting them take the Final Exam late instead of giving them the grade of 'I', because the student did not deserve an Incomplete, and that the student made a 'D' on the Final, so I gave them a 'D' for the course. I then looked at my laptop and saw that the ZOOM session had started and immediately started the lesson and carried on as if nothing had happened.
This was 6 weeks ago. I have been paranoid as all get out that someone would have figured out what I was saying and report me, but so far nothing. Even though I spoke the truth, it's something my university would fire me for without batting an eye. I think I'm okay. Gotta watch it in future. Always be vigilant.
I can't write tonight...
