Fastest-selling single in Warner Brother's music history! Excellent 70s era song.

Heard this song hundreds of times without ever knowing the title or band. Thanks for posting the link.
Kamela was never elected by anywhere close to a majority.
One of those “Crank it up” tunes when it played on the radio. Thanks!
Wrong thread?
Jim Peterik was in that band and went on to form Survivor.
Oh my....I’ll take one of each of those cars :’)
Great song!
Always liked LA Goodbye by them too. Lenoid and friends do a great cover.

Peterik’s best stuff is Pride of Lions. The album Immortal has the best collection of inspiring songs. Gave the album to a depressed teenager and it seemed to change his whole outlook on life.
The song Sound of Home (earlier) seems written for the military overseas. Lionheart, the latest, has some well-written pro-police songs.
Classic 70s sound with the horns. Classic cars too. They showed a Plymouth Roadrunner among the cars. As a kid, I thought that was about the coolest looking car in the world.
I remember this song from when I was a kid. I always thought it was Blood, Sweat and Tears.
A song about a child kidnapper, racist/murderer presumably.
Biden is not president - perfect for any thread or conversation any time.
Some beauties. I had a '68 Camaro.
This song absolutely rocks, but he’s unintentionally dark. Tell me you don’t listen to the words and imagine some creepy guy hanging out by a middle school.
You’re welcome...
Good times!! :-)
A song written and sung by Jim Peterik for his first major hit. Peterik is a man who has probably written more radio-friendly classic rock hits than anyone else whose name you’ve never heard. This track was written for his underage girlfriend (later, wife) which is just how things were done back then. He went on to form Survivorm writing all their biggest hits (”Eye Of The Tiger”, etc), and also wrote huge hits for .38 Special, Night Ranger, the Beach Boys and Sammy Hagar.
My perspective’s a little different. ‘63 dart, slant 6, push button trans, quart of oil every 100 miles and a perfectly rusted body. I couldn’t park facing uphill because the transmission would lock in park and I’d have to push uphill.
Leonid and Friends are GREAT musicians! Seen them live twice. Will see them again when they can start touring again.
Yeah...the lines about having candy and pictures for the girl...and being the stranger in the black sedan....and being a lovable man...the larger than life promises...
maybe the song was written as a warning to not be seduced by the promise of money, fame, and pleasure...even if someone swears to God that they love you...
