Some Freeper (I forget who) sarcastically said this who mess could have been avoided if only they had installed electric heaters in the windmills.
I think I will forward that idea to OAC.
There is a talking point from liberals posting on comment sections of conservative blogs that if Texas hadn’t “deregulated” their grid there would have been government imposed regulations to “winterize” the windmills.
Just do a search for “winterise.” It’s the new word of the week.
The thing that EVERYONE is missing about wind power is that it cannot be reliable in any way, without power from other sources (coal, oil, natural gas) to keep it from freezing up and stopping in the cold!
We have windmills here in Hellinois, there's a huge farm of them about 30 miles south of me on I-55. Guess what? THEY WEREN'T TURNING IN THE COLD EITHER!! It's been too damn' cold for the things to work and thankfully they don't make up 25% of Hellinois' electricity. When the stupid windmills here froze up and went off-grid it didn't affect anything else.
The FACT is "green energy" cannot exist or be reliable without hydrocarbon based energy keeping the stupid turbines warm in the winter! (And even then in the deep cold that we've had the past few weeks the stupid heaters couldn't heat up the turbines!")
