In an opening scene, Magnum PI has Thomas Magnum dreaming about yet another machine gun attack against him (Season 3, Episode 7, February 5, 2021). Given the number of machine gun attacks against Magnum in the series, this is an entirely reasonable concern on his part.
As the Crime Prevention Research Center has pointed out many times, television crime shows seem to think criminals are constantly using machine guns to shoot people. In real life, despite claims frequently made in the news media, none of the mass public shootings have involved machine guns. Of course, the show was also able to get in plugs for other liberal political positions, such as police officers bashing private schools and pushing how hard working immigrants are harmed by these racists.

I recall handguns being used frequently in the Tom Selleck version, but I guess that is probably old hat for the folks of today, lol.

First, they ban “assault weapons” because people think they look scary. THEN they will ban hand guns because they are the ones actually used in most gun-related crimes.

Started watching the original Magnum PI yesterday. I like the new one also but can’t get it for free now.
We’re also watching Hunter and Rockford File. These are all fun shows. Love the car chases. Someone said they can’t do them anymore because they’re dangerous.
I wish the original Hawaii 5-O was available for free.
I think the moral filth presented on many newer shows is worse than a machine gun or two.
