Russia has some very painful, past experience that stifling freedom of speech and expression always has a way of coming back and biting you in the ass. It may take several decades, but it always happens...

I think the Russian government resents FB’s and Gulag’s power, but I wouldn’t be fooled into believing that they’re free speech defenders. Look at what the Russian Gov’t. does to Alex Navalny and his supporters.
