A simple majority of US senators have voted to recognize the impending impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump as constitutional. Trump’s legal team insisted the chamber lacks the jurisdiction to try an ex-president.
Six Republicans joined Senate Democrats on Tuesday to give the go-ahead for Trump’s second impeachment trial. Mitt Romney, Bill Cassidy, Ben Sasse, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski and Pat Toomey broke with the rest of their party to guarantee the trial moves ahead. The task was not daunting, as only a simple majority was needed, with the final vote tally being 56-44.
Senator Cassidy joined the five senators who earlier voted on Rand Paul’s point of order that this slapdash impeachment is constitutional.
Lead House impeachment manager Rep. Jamie Raskin delivered a tearful account of his experience during last month’s US Capitol breach, charging that the deadly episode “cannot be the future of America.”
Addressing lawmakers during former President Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial, Raskin explained that his younger daughter, Tabitha, and son-in-law, Hank — the husband of Raskin’s oldest daughter — had accompanied him to Capitol Hill to witness the counting of electoral votes on January 6. Just a day earlier, Raskin’s family had buried his 25-year-old son, Tommy. Raskin recalled that Tabitha and Hank had asked him if it would be safe, and he said he had told them, “Of course it should be safe; this is the Capitol.” The Maryland Democrat then choked up as he talked about being separated from the pair as rioters breached the Capitol complex.

The left believes that this was the reason why he is the head of the impeachment hearings, but another video surfaced and exposed the real reason why they want to impeach President Trump, which is in this case, private-citizen Trump.
The reality is that there is no real reason why Raskin wanted to impeach Trump even before Donald Trump took the office.

The reality is that the lead impeachment manager, Jamie Raskin, called for Trump to be impeached before he was even sworn into office in 2017.

Impeachment is not about merit, or fairness, or procedure.
Impeaching Trumps only about politics.
We used to think that the pettiness would hurt the democrats, so we took the high road, and we didn’t impeach our enemies, or use dirty tricks.

Good point. The defense lawyers should do a quick review of all the different Dems that called for his impeachment from 2016 and all the different false narratives from the emoluments clause to Russian collusion and to inciting a insurrection.

1) Call out Harris for not being a Natural Born Citizen as defined in Sen. Resolution 511 (2008). Neither of her parents were ‘... American citizen parents’ at her birth. Do so by asking for the names of her American citizen parents, as noticed in the Resolution.
2) If they still want to impeach someone, call out Obama for not being a Natural Born Citizen and remove the 44th President from history by impeachment.
3) Then suggest they impeach Joe Biden for election fraud for accepting an unqualified VP as running mate. Then they can impeach every Senator who voted to confirm Harris or Obama on election fraud grounds.
4) Have the FEC de-certify the Democrat National Committee as an on-going criminal enterprise for proposing unqualified candidates in past elections. Overnite all the (D)s become (I)s.
5) Challenge the seats of all members of Congress who voted to certify Gropin’ Joe and Kamalatoes and remove the ones elected in fraud-ridden elections.
6) After the trial, put up a ‘Help Wanted’ with the thought of firing and replacing 2/3 of all non-military federal workers. That would include the entire FBI, DOJ, and the arrest of all CIA operatives found stateside.

Look for this part:
“And the children of citizens of the United States, that may be born beyond sea, Also, children of citizens born beyond sea, &c. or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born citizens: Provided, That the right of citizenship shall not descend to persons whose fathers have never been resident in the United States”
That seems to be a painfully clear definition of what was meant by “Natural Born Citizen” to me; that regardless of location of birth, American kids belong to their parents. Just as foreign kids' citizenship hinges on their parents' regardless of location of birth, like Kamala's.
