I think the [Trump] administration deserves some credit getting this off the ground with Operation Warp Speed,” conceded then-President-elect Joe Biden in late December upon he and his wife Jill getting their first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in Wilmington, Delaware.
Biden’s notable concession to Trump didn’t get the attention from his media partisans that it should have. That’s no surprise. They revile Donald Trump, they made it their mission to run him out of office, and they shape their “journalism” accordingly.

These are 100% the Trump vaccines. History should absolutely remember the fact that President Trump’s Operation Warp Speed brought us not only the fastest viable vaccines in history, but also that he negotiated to have doses being produced during trials for the first time in history.
This cut several months (at least) off the timelines for these vaccines and are the reason that 42 million doses have already been given out in the US. If it weren’t for President Trump’s leadership, we’d still be months away from the first dose being given.
This is not a vaccine, it’s still a trial drug with many reported side effects, a probability of still getting the virus, the probability of still transmitting the virus as well as still having to wear the mask.
Traditional vaccines go through about two years worth of testing to determine just how good they are as well as detecting the side effects that may crop up after several months or years of testing.
My point is, of all of Trump’s great accomplishments, I would not want him tagged with this one.
Which one? Pfizer? Moderna? Johnson & Johnson? NovaVax? Oxford/AstraZeneca? Any of the over 200 others? Are you even aware that these other vaccine candidates exist? And yes, they are vaccines.
"with many reported side effects"
Yes, sore arms and slight fevers. How will we ever survive?
"a probability of still getting the virus"
Sure, around 5%. 95% probability of not getting it. Actual, the Israelis are seeing slightly higher efficacy.
"the probability of still transmitting the virus"
Possible, but very unlikely. The two vaccine candidates currently authorized in the United States produce very high levels of neutralizing antibodies. You're far less likely to develop COVID-19 after vaccination than you are after COVID-19 infection. Particularly if your COVID-19 infection was mild.
"still having to wear the mask."
In the short term, sure. Until we have studies demonstrating that you can't be a carrier of COVID-19 after vaccination. Probably back to normal this summer thanks to the vaccines.
"Traditional vaccines go through about two years worth of testing to determine just how good they are as well as detecting the side effects that may crop up after several months or years of testing."
The FDA has 4 different tracks for expedited use of new drugs and vaccines. These are decades-old and are used any time there's an urgent need for something newly developed. These vaccines still go through full Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3 clinical trials. The data is still compiled and reviewed. We have nearly a year of trial data already. Reviews will continue. If any problems are found, they'll be handled within the same process as anything else. This is nothing new.
"My point is, of all of Trump’s great accomplishments, I would not want him tagged with this one."
President Trump was out in front with this immediately. From the Rose Garden announcement of Operation Warp Speed to his proud announcement of the FDA authorizations, he was calling the shots and making this magic happen.
You may not be proud of his accomplishments, but he is. And he deserves the victory lap for this program.
Operation Warp Speed was a great success nationally but here in CA the vaccine is still restricted to lab workers and those 75 and up. Recall Newsom to save California!
“You may not be proud of his accomplishments,”
Wrong, dead wrong, I never said that. I said: “My point is, of all of Trump’s great accomplishments, I would not want him tagged with this one.”
To be clear, Trump made good on all of his 2016 election promises and did make America great again. A vaccine was never a MAGA promise.
Again, let me restate what I said: “Traditional vaccines go through about two years worth of testing to determine just how good they are as well as detecting the side effects that may crop up after several months or years of testing.”
My point is we need to wait this out before drawing any final conclusions.
Taking something out of context is a leftardian trait. Apparently that shoe fits you quite well. Not being able to take criticism is another leftardian trait, now you have two shoes to wear.
Well certainly data continues to be collected, watched, and studied carefully. And I would never suggest we close the book on these vaccines or any other drug or vaccine. Tylenol still gets monitored for unexpected issues. Doesn't mean Tylenol is dangerous; it just means we remain vigilant.

We can have a civil discussion. When I said "you may not be proud of his accomplishments", I was referring to them as they relate to the vaccines, since he accomplished many things related to these vaccines. If you had asked, I would have clarified.
Has Newsom at least stopped forcing nursing homes to accept known-infected COVID-19 patients yet?
I know he hasn’t stopped burning taxpayer money putting homeless people up in hotels. Brilliant move, take people who live outside (which the CDC says is low risk for COVID-19 transmission) and pay hundreds of millions of dollars to put them inside (which the CDC says is high risk for COVID-19 transmission) in the same of slowing down COVID-19 transmission.

Sounds like a threat. Whenever threatened I typically call out the one doing the threatening.
So if your intent is to report me, do it.
My intent was to have a civil discussion. It wasn’t a threat; it was just a reminder of what Jim said.
Let it rest.
