“His fatal flaw was ‘trust’......................”
I think we are saying the same thing. When you hire someone you hopefully research (and assess) their background, verify their truth-telling and then make a final judgment call based on good interviewing techniques and your background research. Of course, if you hire enough people even the best of all of those do not always produce the expected results. But, hopefully, you hit something in the 70% - 80% range. For those top positions even more. I would guess that Trump was the final step in the process for those top jobs.
Before Trump made it to the White House, he missed a few putts like most humans. But being surrounded by the enemy in your ranks is an oversight that can be deadly in that job — and it was.
“If you want a friend in DC, get a dog.”.......... Harry S. Truman..............
Why is this not sedition?
Well, Barr’s initial actions were all good.
He stopped the Mueller coup attempt.
Not sure what he did for the first unconstitutional impeachment attempt.
or the second.
Rick Wiles from True News (not sure how reliable a source) reported that Bush and Trump cut a deal after the funeral to end the Mueller investigation. Trump wouldn’t look into the Bush family crimes and the Mueller investigation would come to an end. Barr was supposedly part of the deal as he was a Bush loyalist who would ensure the Bushes would be protected (as well as the rest of the Deep State). If this is true then it makes sense that Barr would be working to undermine Trump.
Trump was an outsider. He was not recruited by the Party and had not gone up “through the ranks” as 99.9% of politicians do. That is how you get to really learn who these Party people truly are -— not just their polished public persona.
In order to navigate through setting up essentially the whole executive government by individual appointments and retentions, Trump was stuck with relying on “public” documents and recommendations from people he trusted. You can bet, the swamp planted many, many people for Trump to trust along the way.
When I ran for Congress, I was a complete outsider as well. Although I had been active in local politics through our County Republican Party, and worked in a few campaigns, I had never personally run for or held any public office.
I spent more than a year to attending classes for candidates offered by the Texas Republican Party, American Majority, and the Leadership Institute. I asked for help, and referrals, and was given names of people who had essentially worked for unsuccessful previous candidates -— the kind of help that was no help at all.
But the most egregious was the recommendation that the State Party gave me for a campaign manager -— yikes!!! Thank heavens when I was looking up how to get in touch with him, I saw the article about his recent release from jail for embezzling the campaign funds of his previous candidate. I’m not only sure they knew, I’m also sure they did it intentionally to sabotage my campaign.
Politics is a lot like crime families, and it is a blood sport -— yes, both parties. Why do you think we end up with such idiots in government -— a few well known names come to mind. Why do you think Princess Cheney holds such a senior position over others more senior who are still “climbing the political ladder”???
We don’t get the government we deserve -— we get the choice of the candidates they will allow us to vote for -— and they are doing everything in their power to make sure we don’t have the chance to vote for Trump ever again.
Trump did an incredibly good job in four short years knowing the deceit, chicanery, and malfeasance he was up against on a minute-by-minute basis in the DC snake pit!!!
“...Politics is a lot like crime families...both parties...

the choice of the candidates they will allow us to vote for...”

Agree with this 100%.
Part of Trump’s problem was that Obama converted many positions that were formerly political assignments to civil service so they were embedded permanently and were loyal to Obama................
Congress, the Presidency and the SCOTUS is the closest thing we have to ‘royalty’...............
As I recall, Joe diGenova and his wife Victoria Toensing were emphatic that Bill Barr was a man of great integrity who would leave no stone unturned to investigate Deep State evildoers suspected of transgressions of law and ethics to undermine President Trump and sabotage his MAGA agenda. Wonder why we haven’t seen Joe and Victoria on the talk shows lately? CRICKETS!
[T]hank goodness [Jeff Sessions] was replaced by a high quality, honest guy like Bill Barr! They don’t come any better than that!
.....................................................
Exactly what Joe diGenova and his wife, Victoria Toensing, told us numerous times on Hannity, Dobbs, and the other Fox evening news programs.
He was working to help democrats the whole freaking time he was in office...we all knew that.
...................................................
So it makes one wonder when the President became aware of that depressing fact.
He was there to protect the corrupt DOJ and FBI from any consequence of their previous shenanigans.
.......................................
Only shenanigans or also violations of law?
Oh, they were most definitely crimes.
If only we could find an unreasonable prosecutor........
You forgot Sessions
His fatal flaw was ‘trust’.
...............................
Precisely so, and I believe it’s generally held in the field of psychology that trustworthy people are generally more inclined to trust other people, while the reverse is generally true regarding people who are themselves untrustworthy.
There are NO trustworthy people in DC NONE!!! How could Trump being an outsider have possibly known that!! DC is a complete cesspool full of ignorance!!!

Well, I agree with your assessment of the swamp creatures, but when you ask how Trump, being an outsider, could have possibly known that, I must ask you: How it is that YOU (and of course millions of other people) know that but Trump didn’t?
