A great victory. Short selling should be banned.

But how do you differentiate between short selling and someone simply selling short because they don't want the shares anymore?

I would say the whole "borrowing" of shares to do the short should be illegal, but simply selling your own shares short shouldn't be.

Selling your own shares isn’t shorting. If you don’t believe in a stock, you take your money elsewhere.
