There is truth to that, in the sense that an oncoming or after a stroke, you can lose your ability to speak English for awhile, and it all comes out garbled and in gibberish.
I have had 3 strokes, and in each one I lost my ability to speak English.
You can think something but not express it in your native tongue , at least for awhile. -Tom
