The Biden administration is moving forward with a plan to replace Andrew Jackson on the front of the $20 bill with an image of Harriet Tubman.
The decision to use Tubman’s likeness was initially made by the Obama administration in 2016, but had been delayed by former Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin under President Trump.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki announced the Treasury Department would engage in the necessary steps to place Tubman on the currency, removing Jackson from the front of the note where he has appeared since 1928.
“The Treasury Department is taking steps to resume efforts to put Harriet Tubman on the front of the new $20 notes,” Psaki stated.
“A note reflects the history and diversity of our country and the Harriet Tubman image gracing the new $20 note would certainly reflect that,” she continued.
Psaki added that the administration is “exploring ways to speed up that effort.”

Former President Trump criticized the decision to remove Andrew Jackson from the $20 bill and replace him with Harriet Tubman as “pure political correctness.”
“Andrew Jackson had a great history, and I think it’s very rough when you take somebody off the bill,” he said.

I’m all for removing Democrats from money and replacing them with Republicans.

They are pretty confident this pandering to blacks will benefit them. Frankly, given recent events, it wouldn’t completely shock me if it did.
Why not Oprah?
They’ll replace all of the money that has white men with minorities. They’ll put Ru Paul on the $3 bill.
I will not accept any “new” $20 bills.
Time to stop pandering and groveling to the minorities based on someone having been a slave 150 years ago or more. The country needs to return to a merit-based system, with honor being given for achievement, effort, initiative and intelligence.
Funny how people don’t read a little further back in history. They’d find all kinds of things about non-blacks being sold into slavery and indentured servitude, 6 million Jews being killed and tossed into ovens (some still alive). etc.
Of course, he belongs on a $3 bill.
Meanwhile Trump is letting Blacks out of jail (w Life sentences) for selling weed who were punished by Clinton's 3 strikes laws.
