Why do people go into politics?
For some, it’s perhaps hard to imagine them doing anything else, such as President Biden’s special climate envoy, John Kerry, last seen Wednesday at the White House, chromed and constant in his national presence, a welcome statesman in an era of state breakdown, or a perennial pity party, thrown another bone by the Democratic establishment which still feels sorry for him on account his 2004 presidential loss, depending on your perspective. Maybe both.

I don’t know much about this person but from his book & movie it seems he would certainly grasp the critical issues of jobs & the opioid crisis.
Bob Vance—”Vance——From Vance refrigeration ...nice to meet you” (Says it 3X)
“Nice to meet you Bob-—what line of work are you in....?”
Not all, certainly, but almost every person who goes into politics does so for a career that provides vast personal enrichment and a taste of power. This is especially true of elected officials at all levels, but particularly at the federal level.
Let’s nip this in the bud. Too fat. Try 2024-Sherrod Brown’s seat.
This is a ridiculous article. Trump has written 19 books.
“For some, it’s perhaps hard to imagine them doing anything else...” because so many of them, like kerry himself, have absolutely no marketable skills whatever, and would starve if left to fend for themselves based on imagination, innovation, entrepreneurial initiative, or even work ethic. And, of course, the count of them is highest among the non-democratic party.
I’m listening to the audio book now, Vance reads it himself, which is appropriate. Good so far, not to far along. It’s already quite clear his mother was a mess, I’m wondering if this could help my son-in-law whose mother is also still a mess.
