TEXIT Referendum Bill Is Now Official
Texas Nationalist Movement ^

Posted on 01/26/2021 12:22:10 PM PST by TigerClaws

Today, State Representative Kyle Biedermann’s legislation that would give the people of Texas a chance to vote on Texas becoming an independent, self-governing nation became official.

The “Let Texas Vote” act would give Texans an opportunity to head to the polls in November of 2021 and start the process of reasserting our status as an independent nation. If the people vote in favor, the bill provides for the establishment of a committee to begin working on a transitional plan which would address all of the issues related to decoupling from the federal government.

This bill is simply to put the question to the people of Texas. Even if legislators don’t personally support TEXIT, at a minimum they should support your right to publicly debate and vote on the issue. Your representatives either believe that you are smart and responsible enough to make this decision or they believe that they know what’s best for you regardless of what you think. There is no middle ground.

We need you to call your State Representative and let them know that you are a constituent and you expect them to sign on to HB 1359 as a co-author. Let them know that this will be a voting issue for you in the 2022 election.

If you don’t know your State Representative you can map your legislative district at this link.

So then they'll turn over all federal property in the state and reimburse the federal government for property that can't be moved?

OR... They'll send a letter to the Department of the Interior

"COME AND TAKE IT"

Helotes is a fantastic all-American town that has grown into a full-fledged city. Forty years ago it was known only for the place known as Floore’s Country store where many country music greats performed when they were less well known. Supposedly Willie Nelson was one of the performers that showed up occasionally. Check out the wiki ...

Helotes used to be just a bump in the road NW of San Antonio. Today it is very modern and is fast becoming a high-end bedroom city but still retains that Texas friendly charm. Rather conservative politically.

It would be easier/better for the states to abolish the current federal government and institute an entirely new one. And one with more representation of state's citizens by increasing the number of Parliament/Congressional Representatives to match the present counties and parishes (>3000) who's offices are in their hometowns and not in DC. States need to reassume their responsibility to their citizens and never again allow any independent person to fall under a federal agency's boot.

The federal government beast has stepped way beyond its role as defined in our Constitution, increasingly assuming more and more power for itself. It's reached the point whereby the central government despots trample on the states' rights and people with no regard for the consequences. You see it nightly, in the news, as another patriot protestor is arrested and jailed while anti-Americans loot, burn, and terrorize without fear.

That would be well worth it if the feds allow TX to go peaceably. If the feds start a war or keep TX under their control by force then of course TX owes them nothing.

As far as land? No, that is not the federal government land. It is run as trust for the people.

As far as buildings? I would bet that a deal would have to be struck for those.

No matter, TX would get all that back with their revenues from other sources.

BTW, the UK is roughly less than half the size of Texas. The issue here would be WATER in the dry western areas.

“It would be easier/better for the states to abolish the current federal government and institute an entirely new one.”

Better idea for sure. Simply tell the blue states to get out and form their own little paradise.

Likewise if Texas just walks out without negotiations then the U.S. owes them nothing, right?

What portion of our $30 trillion in debt would they take?

My ONLY concern is how would SS and Medicare be handled. This money was withheld from pay all these years by the federal government. My fear is they will terminate those payments and there are a great many people who need these returns on our forfeited money. I know I do.

I think we have 2/3rds of the states, and IIRC, that’s what it takes for an Article V?

Article V of the U.S. Constitution gives states the power to call a Convention of States to propose amendments. It takes 34 states to call the convention and 38 to ratify any amendments that are proposed.

The full text of Article V reads:

The Congress, whenever two thirds of both houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose amendments to this Constitution, or, on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of the several states, shall call a convention for proposing amendments, which, in either case, shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the several states, or by conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other mode of ratification may be proposed by the Congress; provided that no amendment which may be made prior to the year one thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any manner affect the first and fourth clauses in the ninth section of the first article; and that no state, without its consent, shall be deprived of its equal suffrage in the Senate.

The Convention of States Action resolution allows the states to discuss amendment proposals that, “limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, and place term limits on federal officials.” This is truly a solution as big as the problem.

The invitation to secede should be extended on a county by county basis, including to counties in Mexico and Canada since we'd be forming a new country.

We should include in every census for te next 4 or 5 decades, the decision to join oor not join, and then let the borders solidify themselves.

Currently there are several sovereign nations operating as enclaves in the US.... they're known as indian reservations.

Expats get social security.

Texas could tell the feds “you pay our people, we sell you oil & natural gas.

As an independent nation, Texas would have very strict immigration policies that would prevent inhabitants of the bordering nations (Mexico and the United States) from entering.

Not worried....I’d move before they officially detached from the U.S.S.A.

If Texas walks out without any discussions or negotiations then I would assume that Texas would be responsible for replacing people's Social Security, Medicare, pensions, and the like. Or not replacing them as the case may be.
