The best immunity is moderate, not strong. You want an immune system that responds adequately to microbial assault, without going into overdrive. Furthermore, if you are exposed to an infectious dose, you *will* get sick, unless you already have specific immunity--which you can only get through being exposed to an infectious agent or vaccine.
